    Handmade Strucchi and Gubana in Udine and Cividale

    Gubana e Strucchi artigianali a Udine e Cividale

    Gubana and Strucchi are among the most  renowned products of Friuli Venezia Giulia and specifically of the Natisone Valley, an eastern territory on the border with Slovenia.

    The Gubana consists of a roll of leavened dough filled with dried fruit, wrapped in a spiral shape. Strucchi are bite-size pieces of Gubana similar to a biscuit.

    Inside there are walnuts, hazelnuts, raisins, pine nuts, amaretti, almonds. The filling is watered with grappa and rum, of which, after baking, remains only the excellent aroma.

    Our award-winning gubana won the “Gubana Day” contest 5 times: the competition to elect the queen of gubanas produced in Cividale and in the Natisone Valley.

    The story of Panificio del Foro began in the 60s with the work of Natalio, the founder.

    Fabio, son of art in making bread, Strucchi and Gubana, carries on this trade with dedication, passion and care in the choice of ingredients.

    Today Panificio del Foro boasts a select production of handmade Bread and Sweets from Friuli’s tradition. In particular the award-winning Gubana and Baked Strucchi.

    Panificio del Foro works every day to bake its products which, still warm and fragrant, are distributed at dawn in the various points of sale. A service that is not only noble and important, but fundamentally indispensable for giving daily course to our social life.

    Panificio del Foro combines ancient recipes with unique flavors, ingredients from the most authentic tradition, the care for craftsmanship: this is how all the products of our bakery are made. We self-impose strict controls to always ensure the highest quality for our customers.
